Commodity examination
Court-appointed commodity examination
An examination under a court order or another procedural appointment when a dispute requires specialist knowledge of food products.
How an examination begins
The court or another competent body determines the questions, objects and materials. Before appointment, an information letter on feasibility, time frame and indicative cost can be requested.
Main stages
1Receipt of the procedural document and materials.
2Checking whether the questions fall within competence.
3Examination of documents and the object, with inspection where necessary.
4Application of commodity examination methods and analysis of regulatory and technical documentation (НТД).
5Preparation of reasoned conclusions and appendices.
6Submission of the report to the appointing body.
When multidisciplinary work is needed
If a question also concerns microbiology, chemical composition, toxicology, veterinary matters or sanitary parameters, or requires specialist laboratory tests, participation by specialists in the relevant fields may be needed.
