Specialist opinion
A written professional judgment on questions requiring specialist commodity knowledge.
When a specialist opinion is needed
- before going to court;
- at the stage of a claim to the seller, supplier, manufacturer or carrier;
- to assess the technical aspects of a dispute;
- to prepare questions and a motion for a court-appointed examination;
- to analyse the other party's conclusions.
What may be examined
Products, packaging, labelling, photographs, contracts, delivery notes, specifications, records, correspondence, storage and transport information, batch documents and other materials. The feasibility of an examination based only on photographs and documents is assessed individually.
What the opinion will contain
How it differs from a court-appointed examination
A specialist opinion is prepared at a client's request. An expert report is prepared after the procedural appointment of an examination by a court or another competent body. These formats must not be treated as automatically equivalent.
