Methods and the laboratory component
A commodity examination starts with the question and object: first, it is determined what can be established through commodity examination methods and what requires relevant specialist laboratory tests.
Basic methods
Inspection and photographic records
The condition of the goods, packaging, labelling, identifying features and externally observable defects.
Measurements
Weight, geometric parameters, temperature and other parameters — where relevant to the question asked and capable of being measured correctly.
Document analysis
Comparison of the contract, specifications, delivery notes, records, labelling and regulatory documentation.
When a specialist laboratory is needed
- microbiological parameters;
- physical and chemical composition and parameters requiring laboratory equipment;
- toxicological and sanitary-hygienic parameters;
- veterinary examinations;
- tests for which a regulatory document specifies a particular method and equipment.
Traceability of the examination
It is important for the report to record exactly what was examined, which materials were submitted, which methods were used, what limitations existed and how the results relate to the conclusions. When a laboratory is involved, its test records are considered a separate source of input data.
Regulatory framework
Depending on the object, applicable EAEU/CU (ЕАЭС/ТС) technical regulations, GOST (ГОСТ) standards, contract terms, specifications, manufacturer instructions and other technical documentation are used. A regulatory document is selected for the specific object and question, rather than simply for the general name of the goods.

Send documents and photographs
Describe the task and attach photographs of the products and labelling, delivery documents, records, the contract, claim, court order or another expert's report.
- we will check whether the question falls within the commodity expert's competence;
- we will determine whether an inspection or laboratory component is needed;
- we will indicate the possible result format, cost and time frame.
